BLAST SET TO KICKOFF 2013-14 MISL SEASON AGAINST RIVAL, MILWAUKEE WAVE
The 34th Season of Indoor Soccer Begins in Baltimore on November 23rd

MISL NEWS RELEASE: Tuesday September 3rd, 2013 MISL Announces 2013-14 Opening Dates

Baltimore – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) released its 2013-14 home openers today, with the full 70-game schedule expected to be announced in the next two weeks. The action is slated to kick off on Friday, November 15th. The Baltimore Blast will open the season at Home against rival, Milwaukee Wave on Saturday November 23rd. The game will be played at the Baltimore Arena with a 7:35pm start time.

Opening night for North America’s top professional indoor soccer league will be highlighted by the debut of the Pennsylvania Roar, who will host the Syracuse Silver Knights in their inaugural game at Santander Arena. On Saturday, November 16 a pair of MISL powers will renew their rivalry when the Milwaukee Wave visits the Missouri Comets at Independence Events Center.

Another MISL newcomer will play its inaugural game the second weekend of the season as the St. Louis Ambush will host the Roar at Family Arena on Friday, November 22, while the Silver Knights will also make their home debut that evening when they host their rival, the Rochester Lancers, at The Oncenter.

The Lancers will open their home slate the following night when they welcome the Silver Knights on the back end of the home-and-home series, and the defending champion Baltimore Blast will open their season that night when they host the Wave at The Baltimore Arena.

The Wave will be the final team to open their home schedule when they host the Blast at U.S. Cellular Arena on Saturday, December 7. Each of the seven MISL clubs will play 20 games in 2013-14, 10 home and 10 away, with the season slated to conclude on March 2.

The MISL Playoffs will begin with the semifinals March 7-9, featuring the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds meeting in home-and-home series’ with a mini game to decide the series following the second game if needed. The championship will follow the same format on March 14-16. The higher seed will have the option to choose which game it hosts.

Nearly 400,000 fans attended MISL regular season games in 2012-13, marking the second consecutive season the league enjoyed a significant increase in attendance.
